Vineyard, Production, & Winemaker Notes: Wagner Vineyards is situated on the eastern shore of Seneca Lake directly next to the deepest point in all of the Finger Lakes. At 640 feet or 107 fathoms deep, Seneca Lake's huge volume of water provides our vineyards with year-round temperature moderation. The lake's effect results in cool nights late into the growing season, preserving our grapes' natural acidity and leading to well-balanced wines.
This opportune location consistently produces outstanding vintages of Riesling and Gewurztraminer, the two signature white varieties that comprise this very special blend: 65% Riesling, 35% Gewurtztraminer (Blended post fermentation). This beautiful blend of two star varietals of the Finger Lakes was first made in 2013 to commemorate our 35th anniversary. Both Riesling and Gewurztraminer show off their big aromatics with a nose that's both intensely floral and fruity at the same time. Rich, yet lively, on the palate with a finish that doesn't stop.

Refreshing
From Anonymous of New York, New York on .
John got us hooked on this the first time we visited the tasting room and now we always need a bottle in the house!
Unique
From John Pulos of Skaneateles, New York on .
There are nearly 140 wineries in the Finger Lakes and nearly ALL have Riesling. Many also have Gewürztraminer and almost no one blends them. Wagner's brings these diverse grapes to life with a delightful blend. Each taste is different. As everyone knows there are 123,657 lakes in the US, and 7612 of those are in New York. Seneca is the 15th deepest lake in the country and the depth outside the Wagner window is 640 feet, or in nautical terms, 107 Fathoms - meaning Wagner's even names their wines better than anyone else.
Worth the premium
From Charles Rine of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania on .
Fathom is worth its premium over Wagner’s “regular” dry Riesling. Although the “regular” Riesling stands on its own as a very good wine, Fathom is a bit more complex, perhaps because it’s a blend, and is best served chilled, of course. Give it a try!
not a wine expert
From Thomas Hyman of Fairport, New York on .
very refreshing enjoyed the entire bottle. I am not a wine expert but I enjoy a nice bottle of wine. This bottle hits the mark for me.
Refreshingly different
From Ann Wilson of Williamsport, Pennsylvania on .
This blend is so different from any we have tried! It is a ‘must’ have now for us in our wine fridge and we plan to take it around for friends and family to enjoy over the holidays.
