There are nearly 140 wineries in the Finger Lakes and nearly ALL have Riesling. Many also have Gewürztraminer and almost no one blends them. Wagner's brings these diverse grapes to life with a delightful blend. Each taste is different. As everyone knows there are 123,657 lakes in the US, and 7612 of those are in New York. Seneca is the 15th deepest lake in the country and the depth outside the Wagner window is 640 feet, or in nautical terms, 107 Fathoms - meaning Wagner's even names their wines better than anyone else.

Worth the premium

Fathom is worth its premium over Wagner’s “regular” dry Riesling. Although the “regular” Riesling stands on its own as a very good wine, Fathom is a bit more complex, perhaps because it’s a blend, and is best served chilled, of course. Give it a try!

This blend is so different from any we have tried! It is a ‘must’ have now for us in our wine fridge and we plan to take it around for friends and family to enjoy over the holidays.

We were lucky enough to visit Wagner Vineyards this July during a camping trip. Fathom was one of many we took home and after having it a few times in the last few months it quickly became my favorite. I ordered a case to get us through the winter and pandemic! :)

I like a dry white wine in the summer and when my newly wed friends brought a bottle of this back from their honeymoon in the finger lakes region, I must admit that I was a bit skeptical So we did a taste test against my favorite California Chardonnay. To my surprise, I actually preferred this wine with its crisp, dry hint of apple flavor. I liked it so much that I bought a case and have been giving away a few bottles to some to members of our small wine club All in all, a delightful summer wine at an excellent price point

My wife, who likes Gervertz, liked it, as did my daughter who is something of a Gourmand. Something of a sweet start with a non-cloying finish. I liked it as well, tho not as much as your Dry Reisling, which is one of our favourites.
