Gerwurtraminer
From Jeffrey Wikle of Waxhaw, North Carolina on .
I've been to Alsace and tasted its wines. This one is comparable. I worked for Bill Wagner in the mid-70's, helping construct the winery, pruning vines and planting 9549's. So pleased to see the great success of Wagner!
Remarkable
From John Pulos of Skaneateles, New York on .
Of course, we all know that German monks traveling through France in the early 1600's found a grape they loved in the (now famed) Alsace Region and brought it back to German soil in Southern Austria in the village of Tramin. Gewurz is the German word for "spicy" and thus the Gewurz-tramin-er grape and wine were born. They tend to be spicy and floral - and some so overly floral that they are hard to drink - BUT NOT this one from Wagner Vineyards. It is a splendid blend of almost roses with a hint of spice and perfect for any spicy dish or for your annual Thanksgiving table. Wagner's has done it again with this popular Finger Lakes and world grape.

I will be ordering this again. Excellent flavor even if I have no idea how to say the name. This came in my Wine Club shipment and is a new grape to me. My daughter described it as sweet but not too sweet.
Vacation in a Bottle

Wagner Vineyards Dry Gewurtztraminer is an outstanding example of the beauty of a "Gewurtz." It is so pleasant to drink and does a lovely job of enhancing a dinner, which was sushi in my case. I only wish I could be at the winery, enjoying the beauty of the Finger Lakes Region. It will remain on my re-order list!!
Balanced dry white

I've only had sweet Gewurztraminer wines before, so I was happy to try one that was dry. Very nice, I've enjoyed it with salmon as well as just a glass late at night.
Great wine

This is a great wine for pairing with food or just drinking by itself. It is a nice wine for those who like their wine dry, but my wife who drinks sweet wines also likes it. I still like a good oak aged Chardonnay, but this grape would be my second favorite.
Very pleasing

I was pleasantly surprised at the smoothness. I am a big fan of your dry whites, so I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised! Also, thank you for your excellent online services.
Thanksgiving delight

I was pleasantly surprised by this . I don't normally appreciate this grape, but was lovely and went beautifully with the Turkey. I would order this again.

We serve this wine as an accompaniment choice with spicy and/or cheesy appetizers. I personally like it as a "stand-alone" wine for sipping...preferably well-chilled.
